Tommy's Birthday Part 1

The Friday before Tommy's birthday he celebrated his birthday at school!  Henry, Caroline, and I went to school at snack time with his treat to pass out to his friends. 

 

He specifically requested Angry Bird cookies.  Knowing my own limits, I ordered them from a bakery :)  I thought they turned out so cute!

He got to sit in front while the class sang to him.  They also made a special book for him.

Henry was right in the thick of it- he thought he was hot stuff.

Oh, to be seven again!

 

Since we had parties planned for the next two nights we went out as a family to celebrate that night.  He chose Red Lobster- his favorite!  Here is the best picture I got at the restaurant- in front of the lobster tank.

He was cute this year because he could read his cards all by himself.  He got very into collecting them up on the mantle!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

We had a wonderful Valentine's day!   The kids were so excited to give and get their Valentines at school and they loved all of the extra fun stuff that the day brought!

 

Henry brought star shaped sunglasses that said, "Valentine, you're a superstar!" and Tommy brought toy cars with a tag that said, "you make my heart race!"  I love Tommy's handwriting right now- I never want to forget his first grade penmanship :)

She was SO excited to eat her lunch at the little table with Henry- she thought she was such a big girl!

We met up with my mom, sister, and Andrew at the cutest little bakery downtown.  Henry chose the largest cupcake in the entire place :)

She was determined to get one too!

Caroline got a new toy iron and ironing board which has been keeping her very busy!  Too bad that it doesn't actually work!

The Tooth

Tommy's top front tooth has been trouble for several years now.  He bumped it while sledding when he was 3 and it turned sort of a grayish color.  Every time he has visited the dentist we have heard that it will probably fall out soon.  I worried for a little bit that he would lose it at 3 and spend a few years with a gap in his mouth, but I shouldn't have worried- it was a stubborn tooth!  It's been extremely loose and dangling at a funny angle since before Christmas.  At the beginning of this week he bumped it and it was hanging by a teeny corner.  Even being that loose Nathan had to use the pliers to get it out last night.  Tommy was so happy to finally have it out!  Goodbye stubborn tooth!

 

Henry gave it a go- he said that he is practicing to be a doctor.

My Life in iPhone Pics

As I downloaded pictures from the last 2-3 weeks onto my computer I was realizing how full of "little moments" our lives have been lately.  Nothing too spectacular, but still fun and busy!  Here are some favorites that I found on my phone!

 

Henry started swim lessons about 5 weeks ago.  He hates them and says they are too boring :)

Caroline stayed busy with this apple that she stole from Tommy for over an hour one afternoon. 

She is a walking disaster sometimes- she wore these sunglasses around all afternoon!

The boys are busy with some project in the snow.

She climbed in here all by herself and thought she was pretty funny!

Every Monday morning Henry goes to speech.  Caroline sits patiently for the entire 45 minutes and waits for him to finish.  Lots of times I use suckers as bribery :)

Another week, another swim lesson.  Still boring :)

Tommy started tennis lessons.  He absolutely loves them which makes it so fun. 

Caroline and her cousin Andrew.  Poor guy was driving along nicely in his car and then his bossy cousin showed up to push him out of the way.

Nathan traveled last week and we headed to the airport to pick him up.  They love to walk around the airport and wait for daddy!

Henry LOVES his "baby."  He defends her and loves her like no other.

Thankful Me

Tonight was Tommy's Winter Program, "Thankful Me" at school!  It was so fun to watch him sing, do all of the motions to the songs, and act out his part as a sick person :)  So thankful for this precious little boy!

Snow!

Yesterday was Caroline's first time to play out in the snow!  She always wants to go outside when the boys do and yesterday it was finally warm enough (and she can finally walk well enough!) that I bundled her up and sent her out.  She LOVED it!  She played and played- just walking around, crawling, and letting me pull her on the sled until I brought her inside after about 30 minutes.  I think she would have stayed out much longer if I had let her!
