Camping 2011

For our summer vacation we decided to head up to the UP camping again.  We had a great time last year and were excited to go again.  We did bring Henry this year, which added a chaotic element to everything, but he had fun and we were glad to have a chance to do this before the baby shows up!  We ended up leaving a day later than planned due to Henry having a throat virus and predictions of rain, but I think that 3 nights was plenty to sleep in a tent at 35 weeks pregnant :)  Nathan's brother and his family were able to join us which added to the fun!  It was a great trip and while I wouldn't have predicted it, I really do have fun camping with my boys!

Loaded up and headed north!

I do the packing, Nathan is in charge of the set up and tear down.  It works for us :)

Ready for smores

When your child doesn't sleep all night in the tent and both boys are up at 6am- you end up taking them in their jammies to look at Lake Michigan and throw donut holes to the seagulls.

Also, if your child doesn't sleep all night- this is what happens while everyone else is eating breakfast :)

Henry LOVED all of the snacks that went along with camping.  He was a whirlwind of activity and didn't allow me to take as many pictures as I would have liked, but it was a fun little get away and we are so glad we went!

Let's Go Tigers, Let's Go!

About a week ago, we ventured out to Detroit to watch the Tigers play the White Sox with my whole family.  We had a great afternoon hanging out with everyone and enjoyed seeing Tommy start to get into the game.  Henry was a little stinker, but he did like the merry-go-round and all of the snacks :)  It was a fun time!

Independence Day!

We had a wonderful holiday weekend- full of friends, family, fishing, fireworks, and fun!  The boys are exhausted today, but it's the good kind of tired that comes from having a great few days!

Saturday we spent at our friends' cottage on Gun Lake.  Tommy loved fishing with Joseph and playing with both Joseph and Molly.  Henry just loved being part of the action and loved riding on the boat!  I don't have too many pictures because I was busy chasing Henry all over the place- he didn't sit still at all!

Sunday evening we got together with the DeVries family to celebrate Grandma's birthday.  Here are the two boys at the "kid's table."

Swimming!

Tommy saw a pinata on tv and has been asking to do one since.  Sunday was the big night!  Here is Henry taking his swing.

Henry was thrilled to see the candy fall to the ground!

There was also a fishing pond with prizes.  Henry thought it was the coolest thing ever!  One of his prizes was a rubber snake which he used to tease Uncle Trevor.

Henry with his cake :)  The boy loves his sweets!

Funny teeth!

Monday we hosted some of the Batts family at our house- Henry loved the drink dispensers.

The best picture that I got of the two boys all weekend.

More swimming!  It was a fabulous weekend- Henry loved the fireworks and Tommy loved the fishing!  Hope everyone else had a fabulous fourth!
