Batts Everyday- Week 4

Day 19
Tommy, Henry, and I met up with some friends for an afternoon of sledding!

Day 20
Snow cones on a cold, snowy day!

Day 21
Nathan had a work dinner so the kids and I had pancakes (with whipped cream!) for dinner.

Day 22
These two are precious- they spent the morning playing doctor/house- Henry was the doctor and he tucked Caroline under the blanket.  Once she started fake snoring he snuggled in with her :)  They played so nicely together for a couple of hours all on their own.

Day 23
I always forget about this phase- the empty the utensil drawer phase.  Caroline has entered it and it is rough.  We are constantly picking up spatulas, can openers, whisks, and tongs.  Hopefully it will pass quickly and I will forget about it again :)

Day 24
Catching up on some projects ;)

Day 25
A few years ago my grandma gave me a milkshake machine for Christmas.  We still use it frequently and the kids absolutely love helping to make malts.  Chocolate is the hands-down favorite :)

Batts Everyday Week 3

Day 12
We celebrated Papa's birthday with a family dinner at Fieldstone Grill.  Happy birthday, Papa!

Day 13
Henry, Caroline and I tried a pinterest recipe to make play dough.  It was a major fail, but it did provide 30 minutes of fun.

Day 14
Sure love this little girl!

Day 15
Henry spent an afternoon with Nonnie making crayons, so we have made several batches at our house ever since.  Here's Tommy hard at work!

Day 16
Henry no longer wants me to walk him into the building for preschool.  He likes to be dropped off at the big kids' "loop" just like Tommy :)

Day 17
Love these two and our "jammie mornings" so very much.  Caroline insisted on a band aid for her cheek and Henry loves to snuggle her on the couch.  It's nice to have a couple of relaxing, slow mornings in the midst of all the crazy every week.

Day 18
We had a fun night with all of the cousins at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  Caroline just adores the big girls and it's fun to watch her try to keep up with them.  Half-way home I looked in the backseat and saw that she was completely worn out from all of her fun.

Batts Everyday- Week 2

Day 5
Snow day!  Church was closed, but this adorable little girl made it out in the snow for the first time this winter.  She loved it!

Day 6
Snow ice cream!  Snow day number 2- no school and below zero temps- brrrr!

Day 7
Snow day number 3- really, really cold outside and really, really boring inside!  This is a common sight around here- baby girl with her cup, in her chair, watching mickey.

Day 8
Snow day number 4!  The boys stayed busy with this activity for 3 hours on Tuesday and 2 hours on Wednesday- they each had a bowl of snow, a pan of soapy water, play sand, spoons, and brushes.

Day 9
Caroline seems to be getting older each day.  One of her new things she loves to do is sit on the bar stools.  She is also really into candy buttons.  A sheet keeps her busy for a very long time!

Day 10
My tough guy had to get a tooth pulled at the dentist.  It was a little scary (for both of us!), but he did great!

Day 11
Tommy used all of his tooth fairy money to hit up Target for more football cards!

Batts Everyday- Week 1

I'm going to try to take a picture every day this year.  We'll see how I do :)  Here's the first week of 2014- it's been a good year so far!

Day 1
Henry and I were busy all day taking down the Christmas decorations.  Tommy helped for a little bit.  Caroline didn't pay any attention at all, and then, as we started to take down the tree, she grabbed a blanket and pulled up her rocking chair to snuggle in and watch us work :)  She was a good supervisor!

Day 2
Henry loves to hang out in Nathan's workshop with him.  I'm not sure what he builds, but he manages to keep himself very busy down there!

Day 3
Tommy has loved all of this snow and cold weather.  He spends hours at a time in the yard!

Day 4
Boys haircuts!  Henry loves to get his haircut and his favorite part is the wash.  He is very particular about the water temperature and he completely relaxes and enjoys it!

Happy New Year!

The past couple of years we have done seafood and non-alcoholic wine with the kids for New Years Eve.  It's been a fun tradition for our gang and the kids absolutely love it!  This year they were all in bed by 8:30 and Nathan and I barely made it until midnight :)  It's crazy over here these days :)  Happy 2014!

Cheers!

Nothing says classy like "wine" through a straw!

A little too much sugar perhaps?  Love her :)

Bottoms up!

Christmas with the DeVries Family

Grandma and Grandpa DeVries' party had to be rescheduled a couple of times due to the power outage, but most of us were able to get together on Thursday, the 26th for dinner, presents, and the tarp game.  It was so fun to see family that we only see a few times a year and to watch the little ones play together.  Gramps always sets up the tarp game which is a fun game where we take turns selecting items off of the big tarp :)  We always come home with lots of treasures!

Henry took the tarp game very seriously this year.  He came home with lots of good tools for his workshop!

The directors of the tarp game.  Tommy is in charge of passing out the numbers and calling out who is next.

The boys making a selection

Ella and Caroline always get a little crazy when they play together, but they are cute to watch!  Two girls hugging!

Caroline got a baby doll that really cries until you feed her a bottle.  Caroline was having fun showing her to Nonnie and Aunt Denise!

Christmas with the Batts

We hosted the Batts side this year which made for a crazy afternoon, but it was fun to hang out with everyone and continue the celebration!  It's always fun to sit back and enjoy the chaos of 9 cousins running around and the noise they can create!  It was a very merry Christmas!

Cheers!  The non-alcoholic wine was a big hit at the kids' table!
