5 Years Old

Oh, Henry beans!  This little boy brings such joy to our lives!  He is a clown and loves to tease and play jokes on everyone.  His latest is to hide and then make "ooh-oooh" noises to try and scare people.  Only Caroline seems to fall for this fun trick :)  He is compassionate and generous- he is extremely protective of his baby sister and loves to play with his older brother.  He recently decided that he would like to be a worker when he grows up so that he can drive a truck and have a ladder.  He loves tools and projects- his idea of a perfect Saturday is one spent tagging around behind Nathan asking questions.  As much of a daddy's buddy he is- he is truly a mama's boy and loves to snuggle and be held.  He still fights going to school each and every time I drop him off, but loves it once he's there.  We love Henry so very much and are so proud of the sweet, funny boy he's becoming!  Happy 5th birthday Henry!

At five years old Henry is 44" tall (73%) and weighs 47lbs 4oz (86%).  At the same age, Tommy was 47.75" tall and weighed 45.5lbs.

What is Henry up to at 5 years old?

- Sleeps from 7:30pm-7am.  He almost always wakes up around 2am and finds his way to our bed, but seems to be doing less of this- especially on school days when he is extra tired.

- Only the occasional nap on the weekends, but when he naps he is up until 11pm.  He loves his naps and it is sometimes difficult to keep him up in the afternoon.

-He is our pickiest eater, but likes noodles, sandwich meat, coffee cake, cheese, orange juice, and any sweets.

- He is playing soccer

- He is in Young Fives with Mrs. VanderKamp- he goes to school all day Tuesday and all day Thursday.

- He wears a size 6 in clothes (just) and a size 11.5 in shoes

It's a Party! Plaisier side

Last  Saturday we celebrated Henry and Caroline's birthdays with the Plaisier side.  It was a rainy night, so we couldn't go real fishing and the fishing pond had to move into the garage, but we still had a fun time and the birthday kiddos felt loved and celebrated!  Here are some pictures of our fun!

 

 

 

 

Henry has wanted a chair with a shade for a long time now- Gigi and Juju came through with one for his birthday!

Caroline got new dress up clothes from Gigi and Juju!

 

And a new bathrobe from Nonnie and Papa!

Nonnie tricked Henry by putting a small (sized) gift inside of a large box- he thought it was pretty funny!

 

All the gifts were big hits!

Build A Bear for Henry's birthday- such a fun afternoon!

Henry got an ant farm for his birthday, but you have to order the ants.  They finally arrived and we had fun watching them!

Caroline has wanted this yard flamingo at Lowes all summer.  It was on clearance this weekend and Nathan is a softie, so home it came.  She was super excited!

 

Go Crushers! Thomas' soccer

Thomas moved up this year to U10 which came with several changes- larger team, bigger field, goalies, refs, and a uniform you get to keep :)  He's having a great time and has gotten really fun to watch.  He really loves playing soccer and it's fun to think about how far he's come in the last several years.  His team this year is the Crushers!

 

 

Really blurry, but he scored two goals on Friday and does this big fist pump thing when he scores.  We're working on humility :)
