Friday of Labor Day weekend we headed up to Indian River for a long weekend of camping. Nathan's brother and sister with their families also camped and his parents had a hotel close by. It ended up to be a wet, rainy weekend which wasn't ideal, but we still had a fun time! Everyone else left on Sunday morning, but we stuck around so that we could walk the bridge on Labor Day.
Early Saturday morning smiles!
While we were eating breakfast on Saturday, the skies opened up and it poured! The kids were good sports and watched a movie while it rained, but once Caroline discovered the mud puddles- she wouldn't stay out. The rest of the kids weren't far behind!
Once we got everyone as cleaned off as we could get them, we boarded the ferry boat to Mackinaw Island. The boat was super fun!
About a mile into our bike trip around the island, the rain started again! Here is our wet family!
Because the weather was so yuck, we only stayed on the island long enough to ride around on our bikes and eat an ice cream cone before heading back to the campsite!
A booth full of cousins!
Sunday morning we did some rock mining- it was a big hit!
Cousins at Yogi Bear! Bridgette (8), Annaliese (10), Madelyn (14), Thomas (8), Caroline (3), Ellie (10), Audrey (12), Henry (4), and Andrew (5)
Three of my favorite little girls!
After everyone left, we played a round of mini golf.
Monday morning we woke up early and drove up to the bridge. It was such a beautiful morning and we had a wonderful experience. I'm so glad that we did it!
The two little ones slept almost the whole walk.
Thomas with his certificate! He was tired- it's a long walk!
