Seven Years Old

Thomas Nathan- 7 years old

What a big year this has been!  Tommy lost the last little bits of "baby"- he stopped sucking his thumb (all on his own- a few weeks of sleeping with a sock on his hand) and teddy stopped riding in his backpack to school and sleeping in  his bed every night.  He lost some teeth, learned to ride a bike, tie a shoe, zip a coat, and learned to read.  It has been so fun to watch him develop and grow this year.  And grow he has- he outgrows clothes faster than we can possibly keep up!  He is a sweet, kind boy who is passionate about animals and science.  He is such a patient brother to Henry and Caroline and they both absolutely adore him.  We cannot believe that he is seven already!  Time is going too fast!

 

There is no well child check at seven, so his measurements are unofficial, but at 7 years old Tommy is 51.5" tall (94%) and weighs 56.6lbs (74%).  At 7.5 years Nathan was 51" and 60lbs- pretty close in size! 

What is Tommy up to at 7 years old?

 

- He sleeps from 8pm-6:45am, sometimes a little longer on the weekends. 

- He wears size 8 or medium in pants and shirts.

- He has lost 4 teeth (one was a few days after his birthday) and 3 of the permanent teeth are in or on their way.

- He can read, and really enjoys school.  His favorite subjects are math and science. 

- He is a great eater- the best of the bunch and will try anything.  He is going to eat me out of house and home soon!  His favorites are eggs, Trix cereal, peanut butter and jelly, pop tarts, fruit snacks, apples, lasagna, spaghetti, sloppy joes, grilled cheese, and mac 'n cheese.  He usually drinks milk or water.

Think they look alike?  (If you click on the picture it will get larger.)  Caroline used to look more like Tommy, but in these pictures I have to say she looks a little more like Henry to me.  It will be interesting to watch them as they continue to change and grow!

 

Eighteen Months Old

Caroline Jean- 18 months old!

I cannot believe how much this little baby has changed over the last few months!  She has lost alot of the "baby" and become quite the toddler.  She has an enormous personality and we all love her to pieces.  She is very easy going, but likes to take care of her brothers and has them wrapped around her little finger.  When I ask the kids to get coats and shoes on she is always passing out every one's gear and knows what belongs to who.  She has an infectious little giggle and is usually smiling!  You are halfway to two Miss Caroline!  How time flies!

At 18 months Caroline is 32.63" (70%) and weighs 25lbs 11oz (82%).  Henry was also 32.5" and he weighed 27lbs.  Tommy at 15 months was 33.5" and 27lbs, 8oz.  Trisha at 15 months was 32.5" and 23lbs.  Nathan at 18 months was 33" and 29lbs 8oz. 

What is Caroline up to at 18 months?

 

- She sleeps from about 6:30pm-7:15am most nights, if we don't have to wake her up to bring Tommy to school she will usually sleep until 8:15 or so.  She likes her sleep! 

- She takes one nap from 12-2:30.  Again, if I don't have to wake her to pick up Tommy she usually naps until 3:15 or so. 

- However, if she takes any sort of catnap in the car- nap time is done for the day.  When I bring Henry home from preschool it is his responsibility to keep her awake on the drive home!!

- She eats 3 meals and 2 snacks during the day.  She is a good eater and will try most anything.  She doesn't like to be fed anymore.  Her favorites are grapes, bread, cheez-its, pancakes, waffles, mac 'n cheese, and fruit snacks.

- She loves her sippy cup and drinks mostly 2% milk, but also loves orange juice, apple juice, or chocolate milk.

- She walks everywhere now, and easily goes up and down stairs.  She loves to climb onto chairs, couches, and the kitchen table. 

- She has 9 teeth- 4 molars, 2 top front, and 3 bottom front.  I'll be sort of sad when she gets more teeth- she has had her adorable little smile for so long now!

- She waves, blows kisses, does so-big and peek-a-boo.  Her favorite toys are her baby dolls- she loves to push them in the grocery cart or stroller and feed them.  She also likes to color and do stickers. 

- She doesn't have many words- just occasionally we hear mama or dada and thank you.  She does, however, jabber constantly and wag her finger or point.  She also nods yes and shakes her head no. 

- She is just growing into 2T clothes and wears size 4 diapers. 

 

Tommy's Birthday- Part 3

Sunday night we partied with the Plaisier side!  The birthday boy was spoiled again and we had fun celebrating with him!

Tommy's Birthday- Part 2

On Saturday, the day of his actual birthday, we had the Batts side over to celebrate.  It was lots of fun and the birthday boy felt very special!

Angry Bird Party- The Details

Last year, when planning his 6th birthday party, Tommy decided that when he turned 7 he would have an Angry Bird party.  He stuck with that decision and an Angry Bird party was planned!  It was tons of fun- here are some of the details!

 

I think my favorite detail was this cupcake stand that Nathan built for the pigs to stand. 

Tommy and I had a fun time decorating the cupcakes to look like pigs and angry birds!
