Two Years Old

Caroline Jean- Two Years Old

Caroline at 2 is determined, sassy, funny, and all girl!  We love her so very much, but we can definitely tell that there are some battles ahead of us!  She came into the world on her own terms and not much has changed since then!  She has a mind of her own and can be extremely tenacious.  Having two brothers has made her a little tougher than most girls and she is not scared of anything.  At her two year old check up she had to get her flu shot- when poked she let out one little grunt and then was fine.  The nurse said she had never seen such a tough 2 year old!
She loves to tease and doesn't put up with too many snuggles or hugs.  Only rarely will she willingly give a hug or kiss.  However, she is extremely loving and caring with her babies- she loves her dolls and takes wonderful care of all of them.  We are continually amused by sweet Caroline and we cannot imagine life without her!  We can't believe how quickly the last two years have gone- happy birthday sweet girl!

At two years old Caroline is 35" tall (78%) and 31lbs, 4oz (91%).
At the same age, Tommy was 37" tall and Henry was 34 1/4" tall.  Tommy weighed 32.4lbs and Henry weighed 31lbs.

What is Caroline up to at 2 years old?
- Sleeps from 7pm-7:15am.   She NEVER wakes up during the night- I think maybe once all summer and that was while she was teething.
- Naps from 12pm-2:15pm
- She is a great eater- she will eat anything.  Favorites are mac n cheese, strawberries, apples, cheese, fruit snacks, orange juice, chicken nuggets, and popsicles.
- She loves to play baby dolls, color, and read books.
- She also loves to push her shopping cart or baby stroller all over the house filled with all of her toys.
- She is a little behind in speech.  We've had her evaluated twice- once at 18 months and once right at 2. The first time she tested at the bottom of average and then she recently tested  just below average.  We're keeping a close eye on it because of our history (and wonderful experience) with Henry in speech therapy and are trying to work with her more at home.  However, she understands ALOT and follows most commands easily.
- Her words that are easily understandable are mama, daddy, peas (please), oos (shoes), ooce (juice), apple, ooper (Cooper), ank u (thank you), elcome (you're welcome), ook (book), bye, hello, oiys (boys), eat, nack (snack), papa, drew (Andrew).  As you can see- she tends to leave the first sound of words off which can make it very difficult to understand what she is trying to say!
- She loves to pick the boys up from school.  She gets so excited when we pull into the parking lot and runs to find Tommy or Henry and give them a big hug.  She absolutely loves those brothers and misses them when they are gone!
